Any help identifying this if it is rare and if anyone knows approx value would be appreicited My dad has had this for over 42 years and it has a wooden handle and pewter frame and a brass screen Thanks in advance to any help we can get.!!!!!
That is what it looks like to me. Is there any markings?
Is it used for melting and pouring metals? It's not like tea-strainers. The pourer looks like it is meant to put a fine line of liquid. An interesting object.
Tea strainers take many forms (including mesh shown here). This is a strainer, the lip is to sit on the cup while it drained, or it had a stand like some shown here.

Check and see if it's not silver. Here is one.

Just FYI this one did not sell. The person might of found that price is what it is listed for, but they started the bidding too high. It's only worth what it will sell for
Thanks Vestaswind. Now I understand: lemon tea, it gets rid of the seeds. Thanks!
