Happy Mother's Day
3 days short of a year ago, my mother passed away. Most of you have seen her amazing silk work. Her gardens were just as beautiful. 6 months prior to passing, she was still mobile and would go out and weed in the yard. But really for several years she wasn't able to do much.
Since last year, I've been working to restore the yard and maintain the legacy of plants she left behind. I cannot take credit for the plants, I am only the caretaker.
These are only a few examples of the many plants that exist on the property. I love you Mom!
Your mother was not only an incredible artist, but looks like she was also very talented in the horticulturist department as well. Looks like you've done a fine job of keeping it up for her since her passing.
I’m sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute and legacy you’re carrying on.
Thanks to all who loved my post. And thank you to all those mothers out there!
Such a beautiful garden and very lovely post for your mother, God bless her
You are a sweet and thoughtful son to continue caring for the things that were important to her. I’ve seen her lovely work you previously posted, now the lovely yard! She planned every detail with an artist’s eye. God bless her!
My most sincere condolences for your loss Dave, along with my applause for your efforts keeping her floral legacy intact. Most certainly a labor of love, and it shows!
dav2no1, I'm so sorry for your loss. Taking care of her gardens is a beautiful way to remember her.
Thank you to everyone for the loves and positive vibes!
I knew that I would inherit the property someday. So for years I have kept up on all the maintenance needed. I always kept away from the flowers because that was mom's passion. But the past few years I've been working hard to bring them to the level that mom had in mind. As I said mom was in her 80s, so for a long time she wasn't able to do much but weed the beds
Thank you. I will have to follow up with another post. I have been working hard to dig up the original concrete edging around the lawn and flower beds. They just don't do cool features like that anymore..
