Please help me identify this doll. I work for the Missouri Botanical Garden and I'm currently researching this and another ceramic doll for an artifact profile. I'm fairly certain it is a German "flat top" doll, but I am unsure of any other details about it. For the other doll I am researching I am fairly certain that it is a Kestner from various facial features, but for this one I am at a loss. There are features and painting styles that make me believe that it could be from Kling, Hertwig, or Kister. Any help, insights, or recommended resources are appreciated!
Your doll is referred to as a High Brow and sometimes flattop . Dates 1860's. I can't see body if it is original but I do love her ruby red lips. I have collected China's and since most were never marked I never really was concerned with maker unless they are Meissen KPM dolls that increase their value or very elaborate dolls. So while I can't say maker I doubt Kling . She is wonderful . If I had to give opinion I think your doll maybe a Kister :-) by lip painting
