Hello everyone!!
Another of my vintage cast iron Spencer "Sitting Scottie" doorstops. These were both made by I.S. Spencer and Sons Foundry in Guilford, CT. in the early 1900's. They're fairly rare to come by and were available in brown, black, red, green and yellow. I believe these were available in other colors as well, but I've only seen them in the colors I mentioned. They both measure 7 3/4" tall and 8 3/4" long.

All of these are wonderful Scott. I rarely if ever see them in my travels. Of course I imagine they're not inclined to show up at the "thrifts", at least not ours. :)
Thanks Mike!! I've never came across one of these in an antique or thrift store. Both of these were found on eBay at bargain prices.

You're absolutely right about that. It's a rare thing for me to find a treasure like these in a thrift. Most of what I see in thrift stores and peddler's malls are cheap reproductions that are being described as originals and way overpriced at that!! Both of these came from eBay I believe, or somewhere on the web. I have far too many, if it's even possible for a collector to have too many:) My storage unit is too full as it is.
These are pretty cool.
