I don't know if its civil war or pre civil war or some other kind of money or token. One dealer said its 1780? Help :) Thanks.

Sorry, it is not that old.
The crossed rifle is a US Army Infantry insignia that was first used in 1874.
Your example is similar in style to those used in WW1 and commonly found on collar discs.
Your example dates from about 1915- 1925 and based on condition has little collector value.

Scott was pretty thorough. The only thing I can add is that the G stood for Company G. Usually there was a screw post on the back side with a little round nut to hold it in place on the collar of the soldier's uniform.
