A variety of the motion signs from Hamm's beer over the years.

    A. The large scenorama sign-measures about 5 ft. across. There are moving and non moving versions-be warned.Check the insides for rollers and a motor before you buy one!
    B. The standard Hamms scenorama-the classic, timeless motion sign which features a campsite, canoe and smoking campfire with ascending smoke. There is also a round logo version of this sign which is more rare.
    C. 1965 Hamms anniversary rippler-this was made for their 100th anniversary.Very often the outer woodgrain (plastic) edges get broken on these.
    D. "Starry skies" sign-this also comes in a small (PAPER bricks) and LARGE version (plastic) and there are a few variations. The one with "aged and aged from moon to moon" below the fence is rare. This features a cartoon moon peeking over the horizon.
    E. 1956 T.V. box rippler-Called this (unofficially) because the outer gray cabinet resembles an old TV set. Many times the inner woods/water scene becomes water damaged and wrinkled.
    F. Sunrise/sunset sign-two versions, one with the metallic gold goblets and one with a clock in the upper left.
    G. "Flipper barrel" sign-with multiple color scenes that "flip" over in succession,5 to 7 seconds apart.
H and I. Billboard and Ice skater bear signs. Both have fragile bases that are prone to cracking. There is also a "tuber bear" sign with a floating bear (holding a 6 pack aloft) that rotates on "water"

I've got the sign E, and I've never seen it anywhere else till now. Do you know the date of it? I'm guessing late 50s, but I really don't know. The earliest I remember seeing it was in the late 60s.

Thats a 1956 TV box rippler sign,so named because the gray frame resembled a TV set. As far as Hamms signs, they sell pretty reasonable.About 250 for a mint one.
      Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. My grandpa used to run a bar at Lyn-Lake in the 50s (and that's where it came from) so the date makes sense. It's got sentimental value, so it's worth more to me--and luckily it still works!

Was wondering if you want a book I have? Maybe you have it already.
      The Paws of Refreshment
The Story of Hamm's Beer Advertising It looks like a cartoon book for children.
I think it's neat. Maybe you would like to add it to your collection
      Let me know.
      Thanks

I have a Hamm's helicopter with the bear hanging from a parachute hanging from the helicopter. Lights up, rotor turns and bear goes up and down. Do you know the story behind it? I understand only a 100 were made, but not sure. What is something like this worth (parachute is in perfect condition).
      Thanks!

David-thats the key,the parachute,as its so fragile. You should be able to get 500+ for it.Its really a cool sign.
