I've never been a big-time license tag collector like some folks but I've ended up with a modest pile anyway, now newly hung up on the walls here in my 'office' instead of just filling up yet one more cardboard box -- the lack of *any* box is generally a good thing around here, where far too much of my stuff remains stacked in piles of boxes... <groan>
SO, today I got industrious with the stepladder and emptied that box. :-)

The pictures follow a look around a corner, starting with my 4 AR Highway Dept. plates in pic1. Here nearly every kind of state vehicle or road equipment gets one when it is new that stays with it until the thing goes away, and (like consumer plates) they change colors/letter patterns every few number of years - these are from at least 3 generations due to specific differences amongst them all. I found them at a scrapyard after the State must have dumped a barrelful of retired ones along with other scrap aluminum, I only wish I would have grabbed a larger handful...

All the tags on the top of the double row are all the ones I've ever had registered in my own name, except the IA pair which belonged to a car I bought from a past employer and didn't retire until they expired even though I moved states by then, driving it (them) with me. They're in chronological order. ;-) :-)

The lower of the double row are tags that belonged to immediate family members -- my Dad, Grandma, Mom, Sister, Aunt/Uncle, and Dad again in order L-R. (except for the lone AR plate there, that was mine also for about 24hrs but that's another story)

On the other wall (pic3) are two plates (and the motorcycle one) that belonged to a friend, the remaining two are just spurious ones that have been picked up alongside roadways (or ?) after having come loose of their own on their own from wherever they belonged.

AFAIK that's all of 'em, but it isn't out of the question there's one or three more somewhere else hiding from me too, but I've still got room on the wall... ;-) :-) :-)
