HELP. My Grandma gave me recently this in really rough condition that she has had for 57 years and bought from a yard sale. It was in a fire and has a ton of damage. Is there any way I can restore/ clean this? Even just lightly so I can use it in my home. I'm not necessarily worried about the fire hole in the leather but the condition of the leather and trunk itself isn't great. I love it though and would just like some advice on getting it healthy again!

Looks to be a Sole Leather trunk. These were made of 90% leather with steel banding inside to give it it's shape. Unfortunately, the leather looks to be too far gone to bring back to life.
