    From the internet:
The discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb in the 1920s unleashed a fervor for all things Egyptian. Pyramids, pharaohs, mummies, scarabs, and sphinxes began to show up in everything from jewelry to movie palace designs. The craze continued through the Art Deco era and has recently enjoyed a resurgence. The Neiger brothers worked with Czechoslovakian glass to create some of the most representative Egyptian Revival favorites. Many of their pieces featured figural motifs in a broad range popular period colors. An example of this necklace can be seen in Leigh Leshner's "Costume Jewelry Identification and Price Guide".

Max and Norbert Neiger were two Czech brothers who made beautiful jewelry with Czech glass in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia from 1905 to the 1930s. As the Germans advanced near Gablonz in 1939, the Jewish brothers left their factory and escaped to Bohemia, where they continued to produce jewelry in a scaled-down operation. They were later arrested in Prague and, in 1942, were killed by the Nazis at Auschwitz. While their story is tragic, the jewelry they left behind is inspired and artistic.

I love Neiger Brothers jewelry, & this one is truly fabulous!
I have one little cobalt blue flat bead shaped like King Tut's head which I found in a jar of old buttons years ago, & perhaps it is the sole remainder of one of their pieces...

      IronLace,
Truly nice to see your appreciation of this piece :). It was under a pile of other items in a case at an antique store. When I had the open the case, I spotted it! I think that it is terrific and it came is so many colors!!! Take Care!
