Introducing the second piece of Victorian satin glass from my most recent parcel of loot - a simple yet bold bottle shaped vase in blue "cut velvet" type glass.
This kind of satin glass is not often found, especially within Australia, so when I saw this, it was a must - have.
It is made from two layers of cased glass, light blue over white with a smooth satin finish. The ribbing stands out boldly, adding an extra level of textural interest to the plain form.
The vase measures 20 cm tall, 3 cm across the top rim, & 5 cm across the base.
It provides a notable contrast to the more flamboyant style of the pink vase it arrived with, yet both are equal in their outstanding Victorian style & tactile pleasure.
This type of glass is sometimes attributed to either Stevens & Williams or Thomas Webb & Sons. Personally I'm not sure so I'll keep an open mind.

Fantastic! I've been waiting after the hint something else was about to appear, a worthy addition to the collection. Well spotted Marin!

Many thanks for your thoughts, SunshineGlass.
A Bohemian source for this type of glass is a possibility too.
I have a couple of small J.I.P shaped vases in pink & blue in the same decor.
Green seems to be a very rare colour in satin glass, & I'd love to see your example!
