Can anyone help identify this beautiful girl? She has no markings. She is a composition doll. 28 inches tall with closing eyes and human hair stitched in rows. She makes a whimper sound when rocked.

She has had her face repainted and not professionally . I can tell you she is what is called a Mama Doll from 1920s-40s. She is made of composition and was not stored well to have her paint lifted and the cracks . They can be restored albeit a lot of work ,but with face repainting and damage I would be reluctant to under take that challenge . Good luck . Always nice to photo whole doll :-) The box inside her stomach is a bellow and when working makes a noise that sound a bit like Mama so they became known as the "Mama Dolls"

Thank you! I don't plan to restore her. I was just curious about her origins.
