Mystery hammered copper cauldron with swing handle

I grew up with this hammered pot, made of copper with a tinned interior,
and silver toned exterior, presumably also tin, but possibly silver, zinc, or nickel (please advise!) Its almost 6" across the top, 7" across the bottom and 3.5" high. The handle appears to be of forged iron. I have included a photo of the "dovetailed" seam around the underside that is also convex, or cup shaped -- the sides are also flared towards the bottom, giving it a bell shape. I believe it was repaired a long time ago, because the rivets (?) on one side aren't "silvered" and are much cruder in their application. These hold the loop to the sides of the piece. I am looking for any information about the construction, age, area of origin or mystery silvery "plating" you may have. The twisted loops for the handle on either side are seen in other old copper wares, but I can't find answers about where or when it was popular.
