After my brass bumblebee kyratisation, I wanted another insect to give it the same treatment...

I got this small antique vintage oxidized brooch, it is my first grasshopper in my rather huge insect jewellery collection ;-)

Small at 1.75" or 4.5cm long.

First, cleaned with a kind of Windex (ammonia detergent), then polished with a brass wire brush.

    Pic#1 is original condition
Pic#2 is once polished and chosen stones (pearls are nail art stuff, coming in a carrousel with several sizes!) installed before gluing.
Pic#3 is the "enameled" critter, done with JudiKins Diamond Glaze mixed with Ecoline inks, applied with a toothpick in the "cells".
Pic#4 is the final result (some scraping on the edges to be done once the Hypocement glue is totally set).

Woohoo... 1 hour and a half process...

Eileen, thanks! I think it is beginning of 20th century, the construction is very well made, not the later simple stamping.
It was a fun project, and I'm very pleased with the result :-)

Mrstyndall, thank you for your kind visit and compliment!
