    An American Brilliant Cut Glass footed fern bowl is not something you see everyday. Normally, a fern bowl will have three peg feet and not a single footed base like this. I have never seen one like this. If you notice the rim, there are no teeth as found on regular bowls. This rim is flat. Reason being, the fern dish came with a metal insert that fit over the rim and into the bowl to hold the dirt. Dates from around 1908 or so.
