This is a very nicely made sterling pin made by Sherman Jewelry in their first few years, late 1940's. It looks very much like something Jay Flex was making at the time. It could have been signed other than Sherman, but a brooch Sherman perfected before he moved on to being one of North America's kings of jewelery in the 1950's and 1960's. The signature here seems to be his first and that is in a round circle or in an oval. The sterling silver leaves are also very similar to what Jay Flex was putting out. I got this from the states which I hate to buy from as they always charge import duties. There should be no import duties for items made in Canada but Customs here is as greedy as they get and always charge first and ask questions never. ..............H
Gorgeous piece Phil! As always. Personally, I can't bare the long wait after I purchase something.
Thank you Searching1, comment most appreciated !~
Lovely sterling design that reminds me of lily of the valley, beautiful composition - an early Sherman treasure
Such a fragile delicate looking brooch . Beautiful . It is terrible they charge for import duties items made in Canada! Not sure how much they charge but glad USA doesn't charge us . Much love xo

Thank you Sue, love to you !~
Thank you Eileen. Like a lot of businesses, they started right after the war, and a whole forest of business in the rest of the world started up during that time. Same as the U.S., there was so much going on.
