Y'all have seen her before, but she just earned her new name yesterday when she returned to my backyard. . .

WELCOME (back) HOME LUCKY. . . you're gonna STAY here this time?!! ;-) :-) :-)

Since the puppers are all officially old enough to find new homes as of Sunday, that is, which indeed 3 of 'em now have done. Little Lucky here is the one that caught my fancy the most, not only because she was officially the last (surprise!) number 9 born, but also because she was the smallest of the litter and the only completely black one of the bunch. That story is actually near identical to Woda kitty's 'come to me' story as matter of fact -- how could I resist the irony??

Anyways. I'd made my intentions to keep her known I thought, so naturally it would happen that little Niner was one of the first two pups that my partner ('they ALL gotta go!') gave away. . . <groan><grrrr> but as *LUCK* would have it . . . ;-) ;-) ;-)

Our friends who adopted her and another of the girls decided, once they got her home and their existing (and elderly) little dog didn't seem to take to her, that they'd rather have a little boy instead -- so she came back home the next evening and got herself officially 'exchanged'. :-) :-) ;-) :-) :-)

WORKS FOR ME . . . like I said I'd intended to keep her anyway, and now that my intent is *perfectly* clear, she won't be going anywhere again soon, unless somebody else around here gets hurt first. . . <LOL>

Also, YES YES YES, she'll (along with Oreo, who'll be the expen$ive one) be visiting my vet forthwith...no more puppies...no more puppies...no more puppies (as I repeat my mantra . . . )

      AnythingObscure, Good mantra. };-)

Although Lucky is old enough to be spayed now, she probably has a while yet until her first heat:

Momma Oreo who is obviously already fertile is the priority, and it sounds like she can be spayed now:

How long after giving birth can my dog be spayed?
The procedure can be done as soon as the pups are weaned, usually four to five weeks.

      Keep those adorable doggies safe.

Adorable pictures! Lucky looks like she’s posing for the camera :^)
Oreo will be relieved to know she won’t have to go thru the ordeal of pregnancy and feeding a brood like that again!

Oh yes Watchsearcher, she seems to be a natural for the camera?! I think I'm gonna havta start looking for a nice little black leather & rhinestone collar for her, with a heart tag engraved "DIVA"... <giggle>

Worst part of spay & nueter was the cone of shame. They didn't last long with my Malinois. Luckily they both ended up ok, but lot of supervision was required.

      dav2no1, Ha!

What's the joke saying? It's all fun and games until somebody ends up in a cone.

Yup, a cone, and some nice clean bedding probably would be good:
