This Quoizel lamp appears to be porcelain and the body is 16" high x 6" widest diameter. The base appears to be resin and has L-293 molded into the bottom. Googling did not bring up any images of comparable lamps. The socket is U.S. made by Levitron.

I could find very few examples of non-glass and non-metal lamps made by Quoizel, which was founded in 1930 in New York. They appear to have specialized in American made glass and metal lamps for many years but switched to imported products at some point. This lamp was loose on the base and had a very fancy thick, multi-layer large cloth shade with a faux crystal fringe sitting loosely on it. The fringe entailed a lot of hand work to make. The shade did not fit on the harp, as the threaded portion was too short, so I assumed it did not go with the lamp and I left it in the Restore shop. There was no finial. The shade looked to be very expensive. Guessing that products Quoizel now sells are made in China.

When I got it home, I realized that either the harp had been replaced or the harp holder and socket had been replaced. I suspect it was the wrong harp as the retainers that fit over the harp holder were too small. I suspect that the harp was probably removed to make it easier to transport and/or store and the wrong harp was put back on it. So I now think that I left the original shade in the thrift shop and, maybe, the finial and original harp.

Is anyone familiar with the quality of Quoizel lamps? Is it worth a trip back to the store to get the shade and look for the correct harp? The gilding looks pretty sloppy, probably a commentary on the quality..

I made a bird seed run today and found this lamp for $5, a labeled Bohemia Glass crystal covered pin dish for $1 and a Noritake 24k gold decorated rice bowl for $.50.
