I love this piece! That’s one amazing brooch, the abalone shell is gorgeous, his design is very tribal with it, the abalone is a really beautiful shell anyway to use, he’s so full of movement too!

Thanks vintagelamp for your wonderful comment & loving these colors, they're like a pastel rainbow and to think they are from a shell over 60 yrs old

Karen thank you for your fabulous comment and noticing how this predatory shark is softened by his abalone colors, the Mexican silver artists were so talented and made such diverse jewelry esp animals, I love it too!

Thank you Phil for the super cool ideation of a deep sea runway, that is such a lovely thought as this shark is a real "mover and shaker" lol! Great praise as always, love your comments

Lauren I am so thrilled that you really loved this shark, I've had it for a long time & I totally agree with everything you said esp the primitive design - this is so true of Mexican silver/ abalone shell jewelry, their designs have a simplicity and honesty that is very refreshing - they make wonderful animals, but some of their truly tribal folklore pieces (is it called kokeshi or something like that, they're gorgeous) are outstanding. Thank you so much for your fantastic compliments

      Yuy, watch those teeth! :D

Mexicans love sharks, they use them in songs and in idioms, as well as food.

Lol Katherine, he does look like a biter I'd better watch out!! Thank you for your super comment & the info about shark popularity in Mexico, really interesting and I can understand why with their ocean water being so warm - took a vacay there once & it felt like bath water. We are currently having a hot end of summer bringing lots of sharks into our Long Island NY waters so beaches have banned swimming
