I already posted one of these models that was in a box so I won't go into much background on the actual plane. The other one I posted was in a box and the model is removable. This one is on a card and can't be removed without damaging the package.
The package here is 5" x 9" which seems a bit large for something that costs 69 cents. Bachmann came up with a smaller card a bit later. Might have saved them a penny but those add up. I believe they switched from the boxes to the cards to save a bit on packaging. The trick to making the card smaller was to put the model in diagonally.
This has the original price sticker from Walker Scott. Looks like they marked it down to the low price of 59 cents.
