    From the internet:
    Diane Grguras has a B.S. in Medical Illustration from The Ohio State University and an A.S. in Scientific Illustration from San Bernardino Valley College (CA). She completed an internship in medical illustration at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey. She has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator and is a member of the Pittsburgh Pastel Artists’ League, the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, and the North Hills Art Center. She has taught art classes for adults and children.
    Her work in pastel is in the plein aire tradition, and considers color temperature and the effect of light.
    She has won awards in many local shows and is represented by the Gallery on 43rd Street in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, PA.

      Nice painting! Pastel?
      To me, she captured the temperature and the effect of light: it looks to be about 78° F at around 2 pm.

      Very pretty little painting! I like it. With her background, it is too bad that it is not a figural painting as medical illustrators are great at doing anatomically correct paintings, something beyond the skill of most artists.

      Really odd! There is not a single painting on her web site that even has a human being in the composition, much less any figural works. Given her training, that is both odd and puzzling. Still, I really like her work. Doing good work in pastel is always difficult.

      After going through all of the work on her web site, I did find three that had small human figures in them, but nothing that challenges her training....
