Welcome to CW. Your dime has been “spooned”, most likely. I think there are utube videos showing the technique. Another way this could happen to a coin is for it to get trapped inside a clothes dryer and get spun for a long time.
I have several of those coins myself. There are a few posted here on CW so look those up and read the comments about them.
I think they are interesting conversation pieces but they are still worth just their face value of 10 cents- unless you come across someone who just wants it really badly.
If you spend it, the banks will just remove it from circulation as defective and it will get destroyed. So, hang on to it and enjoy showing it to your friends as a novelty.
Now he said that I believe you will find most everyone in agreement. These come up on here all the time from people making the assumption they have a rare error coin or a treasure. Unfortunately that isn't so.
Looks like a dryer coin more then a spooned coin.
