My second Marx 6" Disney figure. This is Goofy the anthropomorphic dog. As opposed to Pluto the nonathropromorphic dog. For those feeling deja vu because they think they have already read this they have. I always do this when posting Goofy or Pluto. Anyway these figures were made for Disneyworld opening but were sold everywhere. I believe Disneyworld had already been around a couple years.
As usual these have the date the figures were first made stamped on the base in Roman numerals. I believe this started in the early 1960s for Marx Toys. I believe there was some sort of law passed. Check the underside of some post 1960 toy and there should be a date. My Elasmosaurus has a date of 1995. Most GI Joes have a date of 1964. Oddly this does not mean that is when they were made but when they started being made or some change was made even if only packaging. I think they passed this law because toy collectors in the future will have fun discussing this,.
In the last photo Goofy is reunited with a fellow Marx 6" Disney figure Peter Pan. Also note this is the same pose as the under 2" inch Disneykin figure for Goofy.

Good ol Goofy. When you post about him I'm always reminded of that scene in Stand by me were they are discussing goofy. "He can't be a dog, he wears a hat and drives a car. Yeah, that is weird. What the hell is Goofy?"
The figures also remind me a lot of smaller ones I had free with breakfast cereal back in the day.

Thank you very much elanski. I believe your cereal premium was much smaller and white. I know a place that has those.

      And thank you vintagelamp.
