This interesting 2" spherical brooch is in the atomic style, with pronged deep red rhinestones, white "whale tail" curls and hammered goldtone loops. It sits atop a coiled golden spring raising the height 1 1-4." From the 1960s by Castlecliff of NY, founded by Furst & Bobley, through 1980 when later owners were Lucien Piccard & Pierre Cardin

What a wonderful compliment NaVi, thank you so much for your kind words for this brooch
Thank you so much Karen for enjoying this unusual brooch's design, I think it is very "Age of Aquarius". You're right about the back, it looks like the planet Saturn surrounded by rings! Speaking only for myself, I get tired of the 'same old' with jewelry and always like to find something different, and it looks like alot of thought went into this brooch. Much appreciate your super insightful comment
Phil I thank you for your great praise and seeing the beauty in this brooch, I agree the deep red rhinestones are lovely & their central flower design is the heart of this piece, it's very creative and makes a sort of cosmic statement
vintagelamp I am so glad you loved my baby kitten Sherlock, I had to find something to thank you for your kindness & help steering me to the Jeremy Brett Sherlock series. I began in the middle with Return of SH (saw them all, fabulous!), now I am awaiting both Adventures of SH & Casebook of SH dvds, look forward to sharing them with my fellow detective-loving hubby. Thanks for everything & for your awesome comment - Jenni
