That's a big toucan brooch and a bright happy one too!
I love this brooch, very cool and simple design on it! And is it the colors of one of the South American country flags? (Im not great at naming flags! XD)though I’m not sure which one? If so that’s really great too!
The colours are beautiful and a very nice example !~
Colorful and cheerful!!!
Many thanks all for the love

Karen it is a large toucan head for a brooch & the color blend is very cool, I love the sort of mosaic design. Thanks friend for your wonderful comment
Very kind praise for this birdie Lauren thank you so much :) I looked around at some flags and this red, green & black color combo is popular, Mozambique, St Kitts & many Arab & African nations have them & probably some I'm not aware of. One of the reasons I liked this toucan is it is a simple realistic design, almost as if taken from a photograph - it's a very unique bird with that "banana nose." Walt Disney made a short film about Brazil in the 1940s to the tune Aquarelo do Brasil (or just the big band song Brazil as we know it here), his artists made a bunch of bananas that opened into toucan birds, it's very creative & can be seen on ytube
Thanks Phil for your super comment & yes it is a really good example of a toucan, although that's one parrot I'd be afraid to befriend as the bite from that beak, ouch!!
Thanks vintagelamp for your great praise & glad you found this a cheery bird, one reason I love all parrots is looking at their beautiful colors always brings me joy
Searching I am so glad you enjoyed this Carolee piece, she made alot of lovely animal figurals & this one was a nice find for me. All the features you mentioned highlight her design creativity here, thank you so much for your awesome comment
Our city had a parrot lady and their beaks would be a killer, never saw them all, every city needs a parrot lady !~
Thank you for the love

Phil, your parrot lady sounds cool & very brave - besides their sharp beaks, parrots also have those huge claws that dig in, they don't mean to hurt you but they're strong! I only owned little parakeet birds, but when I visited Parrot Jungle in Miami FL yrs ago the handlers offered to put parrots on my arm to take a photo but I declined, preferring to admire their beauty from afar, as my brother in law once kissed his pet cockatoo & it bit him right on the nose :))
Colorful and cheerful piece!
Thanks so much MrsT for the wonderful compliment & love, I'm so glad you liked this toucan & always appreciate your kindness
Pascale & Penny, thank you so very much for the love for this Carolee toucan & other posts of mine tonight, you are both very kind & I am totally grateful for your thoughtfulness and support :)
