This one is both the largest (a little over 25" long doubled up) and most ostentatious appearing of the "rosary collection" I now find myself with, though it isn't likely the oldest. (that'd be #1 of the black ones shown a little while ago) Its beads feel like they are made of plastic, but the center of each one is a tiny blue colored *figure* cased in a thick clear outside layer giving them a smooth egg-ish overall shape. Its medallion and crucifix have silver colored backings with the same blue and clear plastic accent details giving them more 'depth', the front side of each features its subjects cast 'in relief' as separate parts standing off from and riveted to their back sides. The medallion reads "JE SUIS L'IMMACULEE CONCEPTION LOURGES". The back of the crucifix is blank, but there is a small tag above it on the chain reading "LEGUTURA ALPACCA" on one side and "BREVETTO N. 58580 ITALY" on the other.
I don't really think its larger metal parts are Sterling, but the chain links could be I suppose...?
Very nice but rare that you have the tag which gives you pretty much all the information that you need. It kind of reminds me of the blue mirror crucifix, which I loved so much. Wonderful piece !~
