Fiberglass tires maybe but NOT fiberglass wheels ! Sorry.
I searched for these yesterday and then again this morning.I wouldn't say they don't exist but I'm hard pressed to find any info on them.Maybe fiberglass coated?Although that probably would have come up in the search also.I would take a closer look at them.It should be easy for you to tell if they are fiberglass and maybe post more pics.Close up.At this point I tend to agree with Pop.
Hey check out Mullins Jeep parts he is a friend and the largest jeep parts dealer world wide.

Their not coated their solid fiberglass with a metal reinforcement ring around the lugs, I haven't been able to find any numbers or writing on the outside but might dismount one soon to check on the inside
I have sent a E-mail to my nephew who is a retired Army Mechanic, if anyone will know it will be him....I'll keep you posted.
I gladly stand corrected ! Very cool ! I have never seen anything like that.Apparently neither has google.
I appreciate the help, ive talked and emailed about 2 dozen people that deal with old military vehicles about these and no one has been able to come up with anything so if your able to help with my dilema it will be appreciated. Thanks Doug
Here is a train of thought, at least 3 different manufactures of the jeep, many more subcontractors. Lots of experiments for functionality, including airbone operations. Light weight wheels would be a plus. I would hazard to guess they have not changed the tires much on those rims. Date the tires, take all data off the rims, if they are US they will have part numbers and sorce coding on them, just hope it's not under the tire! I would remove the rims from service, untill I knew more about them. They could be off a trailer for I know. I did notice that they have no break vents. They could be off a trailer for I know. A mystery to be sure. Experimental would be my guess.
oops, sorry about the editing fail above! LOL that should read "for all I know"
Heard from my nephew, Yes they are Army and they do exist. He also said they are not good on rough roads or extreem side loads, so beware. I reallly don't think I'd trust them but I'm 'Old School'. They are unusual to say the least.
Thanks for asking around, does he happen to know if they where put on any certain model jeep or for any special purpose? also maybe a year? or haw many? Thanks
Nah he wouldn't know that stuff, he was just the motor sargent that had to deal with them and he didn't like them one bit....he said they weren't even that much lighter.
