Carl Knoll, Carlsbad- Art Nouveau, but with echoes of Rococo Revival. The level of detail is extraordinary. Like nature itself, it's chaotic and surprising, no straight edges, but full of loops and whorls and surprises. Thinking it must have been an exhibition piece or commissioned? It has some damage to the 'lacy' bits, a break or two on the stems, but the flowers are good and so is the rim and base. Because it's so asymmetrical, the small flaws are not a big deal to me, and it still displays very nicely. I loved this from the moment I saw it, but it's probably not to everyone's taste! "Five-footed" base all in fine condition, rather than flat.
