    This piece is actually more turquoise than it appears in these photos. I think it is wheel-thrown - there are rings on the inside. it's very finely made. I can't make out anything it says on the old piece of tape on the base. I assume Garden City, but am not sure if they ever sold wheel-thrown pieces.

      The tape is possibly a name tag of the owner, if this was used as a bowl for food..or not... i spent some time trying to decipher the letters....stumped for now

      Along tharless62's line of thinking, is it large enough to have maybe been used for serving food? One thing I remember from years worth of 'church potluck suppers' was the propensity of church ladies to identify their (fancier?) casserole (etc) dishes with their name written on small bits of tape on the underside, like this...?
