First off what exactly is this socket style called? THANKS! I see alot of similar "C Kong" paintings, but no real info on "him or her" and i havent seen anything with this name on anything but canvas.... is this landscape or ethnicity of these people familiar to anyone on here?
I am not sure if transfer scene like most are in the twentieth century or really hand painted. The age old way like sevres or a lot of porcelain was always painted in some of the high quality pieces. Some of the finest painters, much higher than this also were some of the best artists.
African? Australian? I agree with Phil, but I'm not familiar with the artist. The socket's probably called a 'double' socket.
It's definitely not transferware, and thanks for pointing out the landscape and ethnicity of the people. I am really hoping to find someone that can help ID this as it's really an amazing item. I might start taking it apart to investigate further. Somehow I also seem to aquire the most unusual and rare lamps!!
