    Bought our home March of this year and it was built either in 1889 or 1890. Home has a lot of features that I would love to know more about. Not good with researching. Wanted to know more about these tiles to my fireplace. Thanks!

      More that likely they are ceramic, try a magnet on them and if it sticks then they are not ceramic, but do it near the center of the tile so as not to attract the edge.
