Bought this cylinder desk recently, everything about it tells me that its handmade.
Another thing is the carved swirled number 5 that is hidden in multiple parts of the desk, on drawers, and on the body.
It also has a pull out desk top.
From my research about the Oak "Lady's cylinder desk" makes me think that is is from the late 1800's-early 1900's, any help/info would be appreciated.
****I am in the process of refinishing and repairing this desk right now. The problem is, it seems to be missing some parts. Its missing the entire shelving/cubby system that goes inside the cylinder. would anyone know where to buy something like that?
Do you know there is a top part for it. It would have glass doors.
A lot of the cylinder desks have those glass front book cases on top but from what I can tell so far this model didnt, there is nothing on the that top would indicate that there is supposed to be another piece. Thank you
Anyone know anything else about it?
Maybe something about the swirled 5 carved in numerous places?
Thanks stonesfan and hotkitties
