Once upon a time, somebody (a 'boss type', NOT me!) dragged an old square-grand piano into the shop where I worked. It was mostly intact in what had been a decent enough fancy rosewood-ish looking cabinet, but the piano part (as most are) was garbage. Those things weren't built well in the first place, their intended purpose at the time usually being just so much more ostentatious furniture -- and time does *not* improve what wasn't good in the first place, in this case. The probable intention of somebody was probably to gut it and make a desk, I don't know nor care...none of that ever happened.

SO then it was there, where the rest of us had to keep shoving it around every so often to get it out of the way, again... <sigh><groan> ...then, one other day years later when it had to get moved again . . . truly I don't know what happened as I wasn't there . . . but the end result was it apparently went someplace else, where none of us would ever havta shove the heavy-a** thing around anymore...? ;-) :-)

A few little pieces that came with but hadn't ever been attached to it hung around -- this was its pedals and bracket from underneath the keys. "Faux rosewood" stain/finish, the pedals themselves are plated cast iron, there's a number 1573 stamped into its top where it would have been hidden from view.

It became 'wall art' in the breakroom because I thought it looked good there. Everybody else didn't care but one who vocally thought it should be in the dumpster instead, probably because he (alone) somehow "claimed" to keep hitting his head on it thus knocking it to the floor...what an a-hole. So I moved it to the wall over the fridge so he could go bang his head on something else. <phbbbbbbt>

I brought it home the other day with a few other personal things I'd added as 'decor' around the shop, because I decided I wanted to. Shoulda just done that at first, years ago...
