      It looks like it has some old hardware on it anyway, but an additional picture showing the entire thing and/or its dimensions could be more helpful. We're assuming it does not have any markings on it, especially under its base...??

      its a vintage wrought iron floor lamp with a tension slide.. I had a few on my porches .. good luck matching yours up...

      Read the FAQ's and learn how to properly orient your pictures before you post them. Right side up makes all the difference in the world when you need help..

      Thanks for the additional pics jonathan927! (they look correct to me??) I agree with Rocky2222, its socket and holder should be able to move up and down on the shaft somehow. You might have a little luck searching for a 'bridge lamp' as similar were popularly used around card tables. Its electrical hardware does look to be roughly 1950's (or a little older?) but without any maker's markings (which are apparently rare on lamps like these) it'll be difficult to give it an exact year. Good luck -- its a VERY COOL lamp no matter how old it really is! :-)
