    Found this in a field in Cochran, Georgia while plowing . Looks to be cast iron. Any ideas what it is. Thanks

      Looks really similar to an old cattle oiler. Possibly a pig oiler. Cattle farmers used to fill the lower cavity with oil and when cattle would Come by to scratch themselves on wheels, they would roll and apply oil to the livestock to try to steer flies and insects away. It was usually bolted down in the stockade.
