I didn't know the white brooch was a Schreiner, because it wasn't signed. I still have trouble identifying. I saw it on a website, they called it a book piece. It has a bale and can be worn as a necklace as well. I knew it was special when I looked at the workmanship, but I didn't know how special. The other brooch, I found a week ago. I see rhinestone, but this one is well made and it's story may not be that simple. If I am missing something, please let me know. I am truly trying to learn, but I know there are some experts that can direct me.
gorgeous
Two beauties here! The white Schreiner is of course a classic, and the colorful V-shaped brooch is a real winner - great post :)
Thank you Manikin, thanks for the love Vetraio50.
Thank you Newfld, thank you so much. Now, is the V-shaped brooch a rhinestone or does it have a special name? Of course, rhinestone is special too. :-)
Thanks for the love Vynil33, and Dawnlady1.
Well the ones around the V border are definitely white (some say clear) rhinestones, the colored ones with different shapes i.e. square & marquise, also appear to be rhinestones unless they are glass. In any event, it's a stunning brooch
Thank you Newfld, rhinestone it is! Thanks again.
Both are very nice!
Thank you Mrstyndall, thanks for the love guys. Truly appreciate it!
Oh thank you so much and yup, I saw what it's going for. $$$ I didn't know; I just keep them stored. I would usually wear them to work, but now I am a retired person. I don't pull them out to often.
These beauties are Quality and rare to see that when so many people buy glued stones which kind of spoil the effect of a piece of jewellery, but just my opinion. I normally would give a glued piece away. I don't collect Schreiner which is my loss. as I do see the quality in your pieces like Eileen does. Love the white navettes, the rhodium plating on back, and those larger colour stones on the other piece which is another piece I would buy like the Schreiner. You really scored well, I am so happy for you !~
Thank you Phil! Because of this thread, I've started noticing glued stones. If it doesn't take my breath away, I move on.
