My sister has a pressure cooker that belonged to our Great Aunt. It is a Health Pressure Cooker Model 22 or 23 made by the National Aluminum Co in Peoria, I'LL. We would like to know how old it is. She still uses it to can.
Hi, I have one similar to this one that was my Grandmother's. When it was passed on to me in the late 70's; I was told that she aquired it in the late 40's when my Dad returned from Korea and visited her.... he made some updates to her home, including a easier way for her to do her canning. Mine is still in working condition, I replaced the rubber gasket and the rubber stopper that goes under/around the pressure release valve. We have used it for many things other than canning.... it is the ideal size for boiled crabs and crawfish on a small scale for 2 people. Best wishes from Louisiana!
ditto on the information on the time frame -- is it not amazing that one can still get the gaskets for these old girls -- i use the pressure cooker quite a bit -- makes great potato salad when in a rush
