wall hanging candlelight decoration. Hiya all. I try this once again as I got the last mystery solved. Just want to know all info about this Watteau pattern. Is it from Limoges or elsewhere? Anyone who know historical facts and else please text me. Bought it recently. It is letters and numbers above and close to the brass (?) in the middle. Into the middle it stands with black lettets: LIM and then it looks like an o into the middle, and then the rest is covered. Down below is the number 6 or 9 embossed and the letter A. This is not cleaned with any polish just to show you all how it looked when arriving here. It’s a Fragonard motif in typically rococo style/ art nouveau. With fleur de lis ?? on top of this candlestick.
Doesn't even look close to me but I am no expert. Everything I have read or seen of their marked work showed true craftsmanship even on the underside and hidden places. This looks to sloppy to bear their logo which is also missing here.
Ive posted new picture on the letter shown back on the surface.
Common Limoges tansfer printed candlestck, mass produced by a dozen of porcelain factories situated in Limogs and using generic name Limoges. Not worth faking, therefore everything is genuine here.
Thank you Ivan. So this means it’s from Limoges? Just to check its right. Can you tell me more about the numbers and letter that’s up here too? What does this mean? Thanks for clearing it up.
