Are you sure that was made as a bench and not a coffee table? I ask because a bench normally has some sort of support and/or legs in the center where a coffee table does not. This type design was popular during the 70's and 80's. Everyone and their brother was making them to pick up a few extra bucks because you could use and charge for wood that was otherwise just scrap kindling wood.

Look on Pinterest….you might find it there. There are several styles plus instructions to build them yourself.

I agree with fhrjr2 that it might be a coffee table.

I have been looking it up as a coffee table or as a bench and i have gotten zero results. All of then have sharp edges and none are round ends.

It id a very hard piece to find for me. I googled it I looked at 100s of pictures none are round end finish.

      They are all sharp ends.....

How do you really no this is old if you can build them?

If you can build from Pinterest? The style is old but is this bench old or a remake?

You might check woodworkers’magazines…..they would have instructions to make them also.
Rounding off the ends does give it a more finished look if it’s meant to be a table.

Household Handyman had the plans in their magazine years ago. I used to get it every month for the DIY articles. Rounding the edges is done to prevent injuries whether it is a bench or a coffee table. Some states require rounded edges on everything including studs in the walls. The reason is a rounded edge won't ignite and burn as quickly as a square sharp edge.

A lot of coffee tables were 16 inches in height. If it was for a coffee table, probably a glass top would be in order. Beautiful !~

I agree with the others -- these tables were popular in the mid century eras (and still now) and can be found in a seemingly endless number of slight 'variations to the same theme'. I have one myself that is extendable.
