I was at the Cool Spring Power Museum show, where I purchased another Lake Breeze hot air powered fan recently.
Now I have all three of the fans that Lake Breeze made. I have the floor model (that I posted a while back), powered by an oil lamp, a table model, powered by an alcohol burner, and this latest table model powered by natural gas (I use Coleman LP gas), I was told that there was a fourth model, but, I never saw one and it might be only a myth that it exists.
I believe that there were only 50 or 60 models made of this type, so it's quite rare being that it was made in the mid 1800's.
It, like the other two that I have, makes very little noise when running. The other table model that I own has a 12" diameter brass blade, while this one has a 16" brass blade.
The price of this fan was rather expensive, but I sold my water powered fan earlier the same day for a considerable amount, so it turned out to be a swap (I came out a little ahead).
It's kind of hard to see, but, the first photo show the fan running. The second photo shows the fan stopped. The third photo shows the inner workings of the Stirling engine that powers the fan. The fourth photo shows the alcohol powered table model that I purchased some time ago.

Today, nobody would know what to do with anything that doesn't have to be plugged in or have a petrol engine. I could use one of these here when they cut to power for hurricanes. Have one heading straight for us next week !

My usual hurricane preps. is to buy a ticket to Toronto, but the pandemic is getting in the way. Maybe Sleazy Joe Bidet will issue an Exec. Order eliminating hurricanes before it gets here.
