I wondered if anyone knew anything about this Mickey Mouse figure, can’t find any info at all. It does say Italy on base and Walt Disney productions but that’s all I have to go on. I can’t even find any other Mickey Mouse wearing the same outfit.

As long as it is marked that is all you need. Even if it turns out to be fake you will know from that mark. Just research the Disney logos, trademarks etc and you will find it. I believe Walt Disney productions is one of the first marks they used and Mickey did have different dressing back in the beginning. Living down here near Disney we see lots of fakes. At one point we had a bunch if his stuff and researched the questionable things. Been to long for me to give you a year on this mark but it was used by Disney. Keep in mind it could have been licensed out to someone else to make the actual figure.Get the era it is from then it gets easier.

      From the Internet :
When did Walt Disney Productions begin?
October 16, 1923, Los Angeles, CA
      The Walt Disney Company/Founded

Mickey first appeared in color in a 1932 magazine. This should be from the pre 1955 era. I say that because if memory serves me correctly 1955 is when the mickey mouse club started and after that he wore club colors. There were exceptions and I just found a mickey in yellow shirt from 1988 however the 1988 figure is made of rubber and bears a different logo. You need to pin it down by every asset before you will know for sure. Good Luck. The above should get you started.

Brilliant, thanks for your information, I think they started using the stamp in 1939 which fits in with the date, just can’t find anything similar.

I love the piece but would love to know more about it.
