These two prints are both full- page and i just really like them. No idea who made them, but you don't see printed newsprint with such quality printing any more. i framed the first one.

The soldiers picture makes me think of things my dad talked about ….memories of battles thru Europe during the final months of WWII.
The soldier with the phone even looks like him! Those angular features and that full thick hair and being the one communicating, he’s the soldier in charge….
If you should discover the source, please let me know! So uncanny.
Great WW2 picture of US soldiers in foxhole, could it be by famous war artist i.e. McClelland Barclay
i'm not sure Newfld. there is a signature barely visible in the photo here of a sort of watermark/stamp. i'll post a pic in a bit.
I just found out about this pic. it's by Tom Lea for Life Magazine. It's an image of the World War II Landing in Peleliu in September 1944.
ho2cultcha, thanks for the info…I just looked up the artist and info on this picture.
It has an uncanny resemblance to my dad but he served in Europe, not the Pacific.
I might try to order a copy anyway just because I like it so much. Thanks for putting me on the right track with the name of the painting and artist.
