This 3 1-4" weighty floral bouquet brooch has myriad slim rhinestone navettes in pink, champagne & dark green with AB accents, and is featured in a 1961 Hobe advertisement with the name Melange Bouquet, found in book Collecting Costume Jewelry 202 by Carroll (see pic #4)
It sparkles like a flower covered in morning dew!
Light pink to dark and then some black navettes to keep a person riveted to see if they are in ownership of this prize !~
Very nice find! It is so sparkly!
To thank you all for the thoughtful love

Patricia you are absolutely right, the little silver "dot" prongs on the sparkly rhinestones make this look just like a dew covered flower, that's perfect! Thank you so much for your super comment & great observ
Thanks Phil for enjoying this bouquet and for your fantastic praise, I agree the light to dark navettes are a very clever design that really catches the eye - I had noticed this bouquet for awhile wondering where I saw it before & was delighted to find the old Hobe ad in my jewelry book along with its original name
Thank you MrsT for your wonderful comment and the love too, isn't it something when a 60 y.o. brooch can still sparkle. It was definitely a joyous find
Searching thanks so much for your fabulous compliments & being so happy for me, you of all can appreciate the thrill of landing a book piece - most that I have were purely luck & I noticed them afterward, this time I was just praying no one else would snap this up before me. Amazing that it is such a heavy brooch, Hobe really built this one to last. Know what I like best about it, the design is really like a classic bridal bouquet style with the trailing AB "ribbons," unlike the swag type flowers carried by many brides today
Thank you Dawn for the love of this Hobe bouquet, I'm really glad you liked it as I was so lucky to acquire it - whenever I'm ready to buy, many of my 'watched' items seem to be gone!!
Melange. I know it's a French word and is probably applicable but it sounds to me like some awful stewed vegetable dish served at a boarding school during the depression..
Totally the wrong name for this lovely brooch.
Lol Karen, leave it to you to point out the true French meaning of melange (had to google it:) which is throwing together all sorts of unmatched leftover foods! We kind of adapted the word just to mean mixture, which I suppose is what Hobe meant here with the different shape & color rhinestones. In any case, I love your super imaginative comment, you can always give me a much needed smile, which in these current times is most welcome
What a beauty. this would like nice on white, or denim - very pretty.
Lori thank you for your super praise & the love, I'm so glad you liked this brooch, I know you can appreciate the delight of finding a book piece it's rare for me these days. This Hobe is super heavy & will have to be worn on a cloth winter coat, when I'm shopping for one this yr will keep white & dark blue in mind, great suggestions!
Thanks Mary & MissJlc4719 for the love, very glad you enjoyed this Hobe flower and appreciate your kind consideration
Thank you jb for the love and support, I'm always very grateful to you for your wonderful thoughtfulness
