I found this old cast iron truck at a festival a few days ago. It was in a booth where they were selling quilts and blankets and was completely covered with rust and soot. It had been in a fire. My Dad loved old cars, but especially trucks. At car shows he would point out these types of vehicles as the first ones he drove. When he passed away I got his old model cars (just a few inexpensive replicas), but when I saw this I knew he would have loved it! I know nothing about old toys and was just wondering if anyone might be able to tell me anything about this one? It is so unusual, with that piece standing up on the bed. Is it supposed to be an old wrecker or something? Just wondering. I think the old thing was just waiting for e to take it home.

Also there is no mark on the truck anywhere of a maker. No numbers, no labels, nothing. It was not painted (just covered with rust), even has iron wheels. My mother (87) saw it and said it was like the ones they had as kids; usually handmade by the blacksmith or someone. Her father was a blacksmith. Any way to trace something like this?
