Not my first example of later (1920s - 30s) Peloton glass, but my first of this particular type.
This elegant Art Deco perfume atomiser is in pristine condition. I believe that the tubing & bulb have been replaced.
It is made from cased glass - clear over deep orange spatter with Peloton threaded decor in dark burgundy/oxblood. The Peloton threads are quite blended in & blurred compared to most Peloton glass of the Victorian type.
It measures around 18 cm tall, & 5.3 cm across the base.
Czech origin, though unmarked as is fairly typical of glass from this period found in Australia.
The final weeks of our four month lockdown have sent me into a buying binge, & this piece marks the beginning of an onslaught of new acquisitions. Much more to come in the near future (despite ongoing delays to the postal system caused by a "shadow pandemic" of online shopping & industrial action by delivery drivers. Oh please bring on October 11 when I can actually do some in person shopping beyond the supermarket!)

Absolutely, Peggy! Many thanks & I am definitely enjoying this fine example of Art Deco Peloton glass. Will be posting another nice find from the same seller tomorrow (this one will be Art Nouveau but still Bohemian)...

Most excellent. (How is your Bowerbird?)

      It is very special.
However (ha!) I want to know why you call it peloton when I call it streaky. I thought peloton meant a thready texture, not just the shape?
Yeah yeah just being narky. :)

      Thanks also, Gillian!
My bowerbird has departed, taking his collection with him, after flattening the bower down to resemble mulch. I have seen several female bower birds around (they are greenish - brown while the male is blue - black) in the meantime. It seems that April (early Autumn) is when the bower bird action happens...

Karen, that is a most pertinent question!
Of course, I'm happy to help.
Peloton is a decor that can vary quite a bit, but the basic definition is that it uses short, broken, random threads. They can stand proud, or be blended in to various degrees. This perfume bottle is at the more extreme end of blended in, but it is still Peloton. I'm going to post a random assortment of some of my Peloton glass to better illustrate this point...

Thanks so much, vintagelamp! Yes, it's super vibrant...it's in my Tango glass cabinet now, feeling very much at home...
