I was at a house in Burnet, TX and found this possible rivet possibly from a knapsack or tent. The relic was found a little ways away from Fort Croghan (but still walking or horse riding distance). The fort was established in 1849 and the fort was decommissioned in 1855. The fort was commissioned to protect the settlers from Native American attacks. Would anyone with knowledge of 19th century military know if this is a rivet possibly from the 1840s-1850s? Or is this something else? Thanks for anyone’s time!
