I’ve wanted to photograph and post this item since Jason posted his Citizen’s Military training Camps (CMTC) buckle three days ago. Sorry about the quality, I used my camera phone since the batteries in my digital camera are dead. The gilt hat brass and CMTC Collar insignia is like the Army standard issue disks worn from 1926 to 1937.

These items were framed by the person in the photograph; March Berrier, who was a beloved relative of mine. He framed these when he was an old man because I think he wanted to make sure these items stayed together after he passed away. Although one of the photos has slid out of place, I have resisted opening up the frame to fix it. I probably will if it continues to slide down to cover the group picture below it
    .
March enlisted in the Army in the 1930s in the Medical Corps. During WWII, because of his age he was assigned to a rear echelon medical unit in Europe. Later he was serving at the military hospital in Tokyo Japan when North Korea invaded South Korea and his unit was rushed to Korea. During the emergency, he was made a medic with a field artillery unit. He used to like to say he was too old combat in WWII, but young enough for the Korean War. He was with the Army 7th Infantry Division when it landed at Inchon, and was part of the withdrawal from the Chosin Reservoir. He finished his time in Korea assigned to a MASH unit. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1955.
