Hi, I got this doll from my grandmother about 30 years ago. She is pretty, with painted face and hair. I think she is old but I'm not sure how old? Or where she came from? She has no markings on her. I am just curious where she came from. My Grandmother was French so I was thinking she might of came from France. I searched the internet but I can not find another doll that looks like her. Thought I would share.

Be patient, when Manikin logs on and see's it she will bring you up to date. She is our local doll expert as well as being a living doll herself. She is a collector and a good authority on dolls.

Hi your doll is porcelain more modern doll. Not Antique . I would like to see body can you let me see where legs attach the material ? These dolls were made as far back as 1950s until present . Mark Farmer sold kits and you made body and they supplied painted head and limbs. Japanese companies jumped into market selling antique looking dolls also . I am wondering if her dress is sewn shut on back ? She could be marked lower on shoulder plate in back. I will await a photo of body . Can go to edit and add a photo or 2 please . Her head is factory painted so not painted by a hobbyist .

Thank you for the info. Here are a couple more pictures. She is sewn shut in the back, I can feel her porcelain shoulders and back with my finger and I do not feel any markings. I tried to peek as much as I could with out hurting her and I still don't see an markings. Her legs attach at the knee and her arms at the elbow.

Hi , Your doll appears to be one sold in a kit . The clothes were usually made by person that bought kit and did not come with it ,however they did have patterns. So her dress is likely unique to her . However There were dolls like her made to look antique sold by various companies most being in Japan . She is not a antique doll probably from 1980s give or take . Her original mold sculptor we can't be sure unless you use a stitch cutter and open dress and re-sew it to see if signed . She is a nice display doll and was never intended as a toy but as a adult collector item. Most of these dolls were purchased by middle age to elderly women .

The person that assembled yours used her own touch by adding trim on dress . They modified it a bit it appears .

Thank you soooo much Minikin!!! You are awesome. She is George Washington's wife! Love it:) It makes me happy to think my grandma handmade her outfit. She past away many years ago. You are a great detective, with a wealth of information. Thanks again
