The Barrett-Jackson series by Greenlight are based on auctions of specific cars sold in the Barrett-Jackson auctions. This one is a 1961 Corvette that sold for $118,800. It was a frame off/numbers matching. restoration and I am thinking that was a good buy. It has a 283 cubic inch engine that puts out 315 horsepower. More horsepower than c ubic inches is considered impressive.
The model itself is like a gem. Greenlight did make another version of the casting with a roof but I like this one a bit better. I like how the back of the seats fit with the body of the car.
This is what is called a C1 Corvette. I have yet to see a good casting of the C2, that's the one with the very large rear window.
Got something decent coming up for Matchbox Monday so stay tuned.
Very sharp looking Corvette, great color & slash design
Thank you very much Newfld.
