What's inside that box? Why exactly what it says on the top of course -- an extra cover for somebody's bathroom light?!
A "U" shaped glass one that is, smooth plain white on the outside with a pebbled interior, it would mount via a decorative 'nut' through the hole in its center over a pair of horizontal light bulbs. Fixtures like this were (and still are) VERY commonly found in bathrooms from at least the 1950's even if maybe not so often used anymore, I'd bet similar can still be purchased new even if they're not so popular these days.
