We found this sewing machine mixed in with boxes we got at an estate sale auction. The entire lot of stuff was $2.50. I have searched and searched and can not find another sewing machine like this one online anywhere.

Anyone have any idea about it? All it says is the "Sanshin" Zig Zag and that it was manufactured in Tokyo Japan. There is no model or serial number on it, only a service number on the motor.

    Thanks for looking!!

Sanshin is a Japanese Sewing Machine manufacturer - if you Google Sanshin sewing machine company you will find some history of the company. The machine you have most likely dates to 1950's.

I own the deluxe version of this machine. The feed dogs drop. From what I know, mine was made in 1954. There are lots of names for this machine but the difference is the name decal. If you need more info you may contact me. It sews like lightning!
